The International Symposium on Optical Information and Optoelectronic Technology 2025 was successfully held at our university from December 4th to 6th. This symposium was hosted by Wuhan Institute of Technology, and organized by the School of Optoelectronic Information and Energy Engineering and the Hubei Key Laboratory of Optical Information and Pattern Recognition. The event was conducted in a hybrid format, both online and offline, gathering experts and scholars from renowned universities, research institutions, and leading enterprises at home and abroad. They engaged in in-depth discussions on the latest research achievements in the field of optical information and optoelectronic technology, explored future research directions and hotspots, and jointly sought paths for innovative development.

Vice President Yao Huaiying of Wuhan Institute of Technology delivered a welcoming speech on behalf of the university to the guests, introducing the basic situation of the university, the historical evolution of the School of Optoelectronic Information and Energy Engineering (School of Mathematics and Physics), and the Hubei Key Laboratory of Optical Information and Pattern Recognition. He also expressed his best wishes for the successful holding of the conference. Professor Chen Xiangbai, the dean of the School of Optoelectronic Information and Energy Engineering and the School of Mathematics and Physics, presided over the meeting, and the school's administrative leadership, faculty representatives, and graduate students participated in the event.

Four renowned experts from home and abroad were invited to give keynote speeches, including Professor R J Dwayne Miller from the University of Toronto, Researcher Zheng Li from Peking University - University of Toronto, Professor Gang Li from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and Professor Yongbing Xu from Nanjing University - University of York. The experts shared their innovative research results and forward-looking thoughts on cutting-edge directions such as optics and materials. The academic atmosphere was lively, with students being highly engaged and frequently interacting.
In the oral presentation session, young scholars from universities and institutions such as Wuhan University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Nanjing University, Sun Yat-sen University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Wuhan University of Technology, Wuhan Institute of Technology, and Zhejiang Laboratory actively participated. They presented their core research results with clear logic and composed demeanor, creating a vibrant academic atmosphere.
The successful holding of this international conference not only promoted in-depth exchanges and cooperation among domestic and foreign peers but also injected new impetus into the improvement of the quality of talent cultivation in the school. In the future, our school will continue to build high-end academic exchange platforms, deepen international cooperation and exchanges, and contribute to the high-quality development of the academic field.
